The AGCRA Rocket City Chapter is a military nonprofit organization providing opportunities for all U.S. Army active or retired Adjutant General’s Corps Soldiers, Human Resources (HR) Soldiers and Bandsmen of the Active force, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve; Federal Civilian employees affiliated with the Army’s Human Resources community; spouses, widows, or widowers of Active members, Soldiers and federal civilian employees; military service members and civilians of DOD, other U.S. Sister Services, and Allied Nations with a close affinity to the AG Corps, Association or Regiment, to aid in preserving the proud heritage of the U.S. Army Adjutant General’s Corps for posterity to stand with us. Mission: The AGCRA Rocket City Chapter serves as the connection to the Northern Alabama Military Community, to provide a forum for esprit de corps, camaraderie, and professional development opportunities for human resources Soldiers, Department of the Army Civilians, Contractors and Retirees in the area. We have made it a priority to give back to our community when and where there is a need. Chapter Activation: On 3 May 2012 here at Redstone Arsenal (RSA), the Rocket City Chapter of the Adjutant General’s Corp Regimental Association (AGCRA) was activated. The Rocket City Chapter became the 39th AGCRA Chapter and is now a part of the long outstanding history of RSA. Located in the heart of the Tennessee Valley, RSA was built in 1941 to produce conventional chemical ammunition for use in World War II. RSA has been the heart of the Army's Rocket and Missile Programs for more than 40 years. Today, RSA is home to the U.S. Army Material Command (AMC), the first four-star command headquartered in Alabama, the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), numerous Program Executive Offices (PEO), and major components of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). RSA contains a military workforce of about 1,000, a government and contractor workforce that averages 36,000 to 40,000 personnel daily.
