About Us
The Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association (AGCRA) is a U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization and serves as the Professional Association for the U.S. Army Adjutant General’s Corps. AGCRA is the only professional organization with this primary function. AGCRA supports and serves AG Soldiers, Army Civilian HR Professionals, Army Bands, Accession/Recruiting/Retention personnel, individuals affiliated with the Adjutant General’s Corps or U.S. military HR support, and their Family members. The AGCRA National Executive Council (NEC) is headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina (the mailing address is provided below). AGCRA has myriad affiliated Chapters worldwide. The Association was founded in January 1987 with the formation of the first NEC.

The mission of AGCRA is to do the following:
- The mission of the AGCRA is to support the entire U.S. Army Adjutant General’s (AG) Corps; to share the camaraderie of like-minded Soldiers and citizens who believe in maintaining the AG spirit; to recognize, through our awards program, outstanding AG Corps Soldiers, Civilians, and Association supporters; and to preserve the AG Corps and AGCRA heritage.
- The Association shall be worldwide in scope and membership.
- The AGCRA shall be operated on a nonprofit basis under the rules of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954. The Association is not organized or operated for the benefit of private interests. No part of the net earnings of the Association may inure to the benefit of any private individual. The Association operates for charitable, educational, and literary purposes.
- The Association will ensure compliance and fulfillment with the requirements of the South Carolina Nonprofit Corporation Act of 1994. This includes filing the AGCRA Articles of Incorporation with the state of South Carolina.
- The Association will conduct its affairs in a nonpartisan political manner. Its name or influence will not be used directly or indirectly in the interest of any national, state, or municipal political activity.
- The Association will encourage programs for research and development in the fields of personnel, administration, and human resources management, as well as postal operations, public affairs, Army Band operations, and accession/recruiting/retention processing.
- The Association is responsible for researching, recording, perpetuating, and understanding the history of the Adjutant General’s Corps and the AGCRA.
- AGCRA will operate on a nonprofit basis in support of its members and the Adjutant General’s Corps.
Please note the following:
- As a Nonprofit Organization (a.k.a., Private Organization), AGCRA is not an official U.S. government, nor Army agency.
- Private Organizations, such as AGCRA, come under the purview of AR 210-22, Private Organizations on Department of the Army Installations.
- AGCRA will retain the term “Regimental” in its title for historical purposes as the Association was founded in 1987. However, the re-publication of AR 870-21, The U.S. Army Regimental System, on 13 April 2017, officially dropped the term “Regiment” for the AG Corps. The AG Corps is now listed as a separate “Corps” within the regulation.
- The general control and management of the property and affairs of the Association shall be vested in its National Executive Council (NEC), which shall decide all policy matters involving the conduct of the Association, and shall approve the seal to be used by the Association.
