Nick and Dianne visited the 80th Anniversary of D-Day for WWII. Their trip began in London, England, where they had a tour expert take them to places where the planning and preparation for Operation Overlord took place. They then took a 6-hour ferry from Portsmouth, England, in the rain of course, to Normandy, France.
They stayed in Caen, France, and toured all five D-Day landing sites – U.S. Omaha and Utah beaches, British Sword and Gold beaches, and Canada’s Juno Beach. They also visited the museums highlighting the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, the 1st ID and 4th ID, and the brave actions of the 2nd and 5th Ranger Battalions at Pointe du Hoc.
Pictured above, Nick and Dianne, along with other military Retirees, Veterans, and Family members of WWII, paid their respects to our fallen comrades with a Wreath Ceremony at the American Cemetery, where 9,387 Americans are buried.
At the end of July 2024, Nick and Dianne were traveling again, starting with their trip to Barcelona, Spain. They spent a few wonderful days visiting all the sights in Spain before picking up another cruise. This was a Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to Gibraltar, Malaga (Best of Granada), Marseille (Avignon), St. Tropez, Portofino, Livorno, Cinque Terre, and Rome (the Vatican).
