On 22 August 2025, the Alamo Chapter of AGCRA hosted a well-attended and impactful Leadership Professional Development (LPD) and Mentorship Session at Fort Sam Houston, TX. Led by Chapter President COL Jim Kyle, the event brought together AG leaders, Soldiers, and civilians for a day of professional growth, recognition, and fellowship.

The session featured two distinguished guests—AGCRA President, SGM(R) Dr. Mark Clark, and Senior Vice President, CW5(R) Dave Betancourt—who provided mentorship and insight during general sessions and breakout discussions. Their participation reinforced the value of mentorship and the enduring role of AG leaders in developing the next generation of HR professionals

Highlights of the day included:

Presentation of the COL Rob Manning Award to SGM Nathan Bryant.

Awarding of the Horatio Gates Bronze Medal to CW2(P) Tiffany Woods, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the Corps.

Breakout sessions focused on officer and warrant officer issues, as well as mentorship discussions hosted in partnership with the Fort Sam Houston Audie Murphy Club.

Fellowship opportunities, where attendees shared pizza, built connections, and strengthened community bonds

With five MACOMs located across the San Antonio and Austin, TX region, the Alamo Chapter continues to play an influential role in supporting HR professionals. Importantly, the Alamo Chapter and Lone Star Chapter are working hand-in-hand to promote HR excellence and prepare their communities for anticipated Army organizational restructuring. Together, they are ensuring that AGCRA Chapters remain vital resources for information, mentorship, and professional support.

The Alamo Chapter’s 3rd Quarter LPD was another clear demonstration of the value of community, mentorship, and professional development—hallmarks of the AGCRA mission.
